Boticelli's famous painting that depicts Venus rising from a shell is converted into a dimensional sculpture in the form of a watermelon carving--a sculptural practice by the lay person to create themed center pieces for parties. In this sculpture, the nude Venus is humorously presented for consumption, while the red pulp of the watermelon creates an abjectly fleshy constitution.
