Exploding Apples
Exploding Apples
Medium: Foam clay, epoxy clay, acrylics, glue
12" x 12"
2023

A still life of apples appears to be exploding referencing news reports of fruits exploding that were sprayed with the wrong growth hormone. There is also an illusion to Harold Edgerton's 1964 image of a .30-caliber bullet ripping through an apple that is well-known in art history.
